DETAILS
We all know how lucky we are to have such beautiful parks and green space in and around Wilmington. Did you know that its all due to a 19th century businessman named William Bancroft. He spent his wealth preserving land for the people of Wilmington and founded the Wilmington Parks Commission and the Woodlawn Trustees. Come hear his story from Richard Pryzwara, Director of Woodlawn Trustees and the Rockford Woodlawn Foundation. Rich is a great speaker who presented at the Bancroft Symposium at the Delaware Art Museum last year among other places. He will bring Bancroft's story to life in this engaging presentation. After the presentation, visit with FOWP members, fellow history buffs and our speaker at a wine and cheese reception. It will be an evening of Wilmington history not to be missed!
